Thermal Rolls
Thermal rolls are a 1 Ply roll, that is heat sensitive, an image is produced via a print head, in order to identify Thermal paper you should look for a smooth/shiny side, these rolls are common and used in most Epos (point of sale) Systems and Card Machine & Chip and pin machines.
Thermal rolls are produced and varieties of colours such as White Thermal Rolls, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange and Pink.
Shelf life: More than 5 years if stored correctly in a dark place.
Image Stability: Once you have imaged, the image will remain legible for at least 5 Years provided that the documents are properly stored with compatible materials under normal filing conditions.
Single Ply Plain Roll
Single Ply Plain roll which can be produced from a variety of paper grades, With A grade being the premier and most common, with A grade paper you will receive a bright white wood free receipt.
Shelf life: More than 10 years if stored correctly.
Image Stability: Once you have imaged, the image will remain legible for at least 10 Years provided that the documents are properly stored with compatible materials under normal filing conditions.
Two and Three Ply Rolls
Carbonless paper is used to produce a 2/3 Ply roll, this paper has a coating of micro capsules on the surface or the reverse and in order to produce an image your printer will require a printer ribbon.
This paper roll is common within the Kitchen Printer where heat is produced and therefore thermal cannot be used.
